Increasing your Water Consumption Can Prevent Asthma Symptoms

By Susan Millar

It's good for you, inexpensive and simple, but an often overlooked asthma remedy. Drinking enough pure water daily can actually help prevent and reduce asthma symptoms. Dehydration produces a large amount of histamine, which creates back pain, inflamed joints, allergies and asthma. The lungs need water almost more than any other part of the body, when the body lacks sufficient water the lungs feel tight and sensitive.
Dehydration in your lungs also causes a restriction of airflow and prevents water vapour from leaving your body. This in turn results difficulty to breathe due to the mucous becoming sticky and thick, which in turn causes wheezing and coughing. Drinking an eight ounce glass of pure water every two hours for a total of eight to ten glasses a day will decrease and can even prevent asthma attacks.
If you are like me and many others, we get too busy and forget or avoid drinking so we can limit restroom visits. But your health is much more important and it's a small price to pay. You can tell if you are dehydrated as your urine will be obviously yellow. It should be very pale yellow if you are properly hydrated. Note, if you take B vitamins they will cause your urine to appear bright yellow.
Tap water that is filtered with a system like Brita is good and costs are low, or you can use distilled or spring water if you prefer. Shaking the water briskly will also help oxygenate it.
Mucous plugs in the lungs make breathing more difficult, but can be broken down if you take a little sea salt in your water. Try a quarter teaspoon to a quart of water or a pinch of sea salt for every two, eight ounce glass of water if this is more convenient for you.
If you are searching for a natural asthma remedy as an alternative health solution for your asthma symptoms, lung disease or illness you will find that the Dramatic Asthma Relief Report program is very effective and safe to use.
