Natural Yeast Infection Cures That Work

By Leroy Aro

Natural yeast infection cures are becoming more popular as more women want to make healthy lifestyle choices as opposed to just going to the doctor and taking pills. Most of these cures have been around for years, but are now being rediscovered.
The reason why natural yeast infections cures are being revisited is because they don't have the same side effects as prescription medication or over-the counter-drugs. They are also much more affordable and in some cases, just as effective.
As we stated earlier, prevention is one of the best cures for yeast infection. Wearing loose pants and cotton underwear does a tremendous amount to stop yeast infections. As well, avoid douching and scented tampons - that only makes the problem worse.
Organic cures for yeast infection are based on healthy eating. Foods that are laden with sugar like sodas and baked goods can start a yeast infection and then feed it. Alcohol, smoked meats, canned tomatoes, and mushrooms will do the same thing.
There are two reasons why organic yeast infection cures won't work if you continue to eat these foods. These kinds of foods will create a yeast friendly environment in your body, and then will act as nutrients for the yeast.
There are foods, though, that are considered to be like yeast infection cures. The one considered to be the most effective is plain, unsweetened yogurt; but whole grains, untreated meats, raw vegetables, raw nuts, and unsweetened soy milk are great, too.
To make a healthy diet more palatable you can add almost any spices, many of which are also considered to be cures for yeast infections. Some spices that help are garlic, ginger, onion, Tamari sauce, and salt and pepper.
One last dietary consideration is getting enough water. At least eight glasses of water a day is one of the cures for yeast infections that is most important because frequent urination will wash away the sugars that act as food for the yeast.
Natural yeast infection cures are also topical. Plain unsweetened yogurt can be applied directly to the infection as well as tea tree oil, oil of oregano, or diluted pure apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar can also be taken orally.
Instead of getting a yeast infection in the first place, it is much better to prevent it. However, since most women will suffer from this condition at least once, it is good to know that there are many yeast infection cures available.
